Due to Covid-19 we are all “closed in” with our families, for long periods of time. Even in good relationships, this can be challenging…. in homes where there is domestic violence, it can be deadly.
If you are a victim of domestic violence, please know that services are still available to you! Please get out. Do not stay in a home where you are getting hurt.
Please call the National Domestic Violence Hotline and they will help guide you. 1 (800) 799-7233.
Depression can also be deadly.
If you are struggling with suicidal thoughts, please call the Suicide Lifeline. 1 (800) 273-8255. There is also a Crisis Text Line at 741741, if calling is dangerous for you.
Also, for LGBTQ people, in trouble, please call Trevor Project’s Trevor Lifeline at 1 (866) 488-7386.
The courthouse, located at 201 SE 6th Street, will allow you to file for a restraining order. Someone will escort you into the proper place for filing. Please do not think that these services are not available, because they are!
Please stay safe and let us know if we can help in any way. We are here for you. (954) 776-2320
